A Registered Holistic Nutrition Practitioner™ (RHNP™) is a trained nutrition professional who supports clients through nutrition, lifestyle, and holistic health practices designed to help the body return to balance.
RHNPs look at the whole persons digestion, stress, sleep, hormones, environment, and daily habits rather than focusing on isolated symptoms. The goal is to identify root‑cause patterns and guide clients toward sustainable, long term well-being.
Not all nutritionists are Registered and Licensed Holistic Nutritionists.
Because the title “Nutritionist” isn’t regulated, virtually anyone can use it, which makes it hard to decipher who has extensive formal nutrition education, and who has only completed a short course.
Many individuals working under the “nutritionist” umbrella have limited or no formal nutrition training, and their services are not eligible for most major insurance reimbursement anywhere in Canada. (Insurance reimbursement for my services applies to Canada only, not the U.S.)
• Nutrition education
• Lifestyle recommendations
• Awareness of functional patterns in the body
• Support for energy, digestion, mood, and overall vitality
• Evidence‑informed holistic guidance
This is where it becomes important for YOU. I’m fully registered and licensed with GAIN (formerly the Canadian Association for Integrative Nutrition, CAIN). GAIN = Global Association for Integrative Nutrition.
Why this matters:
GAIN is a Canadian‑based professional association that recognizes qualified holistic nutrition practitioners. They ensure that anyone using the RHN™ title meets established education and ethical requirements not just informal or unverified online training.
Practitioners registered with Gain must:
• Meet defined education requirements
• Follow a professional code of ethics
• Maintain ongoing continuing education
• Practice safely, responsibly, and within scope
Bonus for YOU: Insurance Reimbursement
GAIN provides practitioners with a professional registration number. Clients can use this number to submit receipts for reimbursement through certain extended health benefit plans that include holistic nutrition services. Depending on your plan, you may receive partial or full reimbursement.
The first step is to book a Discovery Call. During this call, I’ll learn more about you and your health goals, explain how I work with clients, make sure we’re a good fit, answer your questions, and outline what the next steps would look like.
